Signalling Installation and Maintenance Services Ltd (SIMS) provides signalling design, installation, maintenance and commissioning services for railway clients and have a significant involvement with London Underground. The company was formed ten years ago by ex LUL Signal Engineering Managers.

SIMS has the capability, expertise and personnel to undertake and handover complete signalling projects from Design through to Commissioning and handover to the client.

SIMS is recognised as a licensing agency by the Institution of Railway Signalling Engineers (IRSE) and can carry out workplace and competence assessments for the full range of Installation and Testing categories.

SIMS direct labour and contract workforce numbers over 100 with a low staff turnover ensuring continuity on larger projects. SIMS staff are IRSE licensed in Signalling Design, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Maintenance.

SIMS have had significant involvement on major LUL projects including:

• Central Line re-signalling.
• Jubilee Line extension project.
• Wembley Park sidings replacement.
• Northern Line track refurbishment and replacement.
• Oxford Circus Station refurbishment.
• Piccadilly Line extension to Terminal 5.
• Edgware point conversions.
• Tottenham Court Road station refurbishment.
